Non-human animals have been used throughout history for purposes of entertainment. In a new technological era, the ways animals can be exploited only seem to be increasing. Animals are kept in confinement in unnatural habitats, fed unnatural diets, are unable to exercise – or the other extreme, forced to over-exert themselves and are trained to do unnatural acts under threat of harm.
Key areas of concern are
- Horse racing
- Greyhound racing
- Circuses
- Rodeos
- “Sport” or “Game” fishing
- Deer hunting
- Duck shooting
- Zoos and animals in captivity
