Animal Liberation Tasmania is a not-for-profit animal rights organisation founded in 2016. This group has been established to contribute to the Tasmanian animal rights community and work with organisations across Australia to address the issues experienced by all animal species.
We advocate for the rights of non-human animals so that they may live free from exploitation and cruelty.
We believe all animals have the right to live without human intervention. That they exist for their own innate reasons, and their freedom to act in their own interests should not be hindered by any persons.
Animal Liberation Tasmania intends to fight for and represent the rights of non-human animals so that they are able to live a life of their choosing, free of use and abuse by humans.
We aim to strongly and effectively contribute to this movement of social change through public education, campaign development, events, advertising, and government lobbying. We encourage individuals to choose an ethical, healthy and environmentally minded vegan lifestyle for the betterment of all beings.
ALT would like to acknowledge that our organisation is based in lutrawita, the land of the palawa people. We acknowledge that this land was captured by gunpoint and genocide, and that sovereignty over this land was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders – past, present, and becoming, to their culture, and their unique connection to this land.
